About Us

Samantha has danced from a young age and is a Qualified Primary School Teacher. After working alongside a Portsmouth school participating in Rock Challenge, Samantha saw the positive impact that performance had on children of all abilities. This inspired the idea of FunKidz Dance, affordable and accessible dance for all primary school children.

Megan has danced since she was a child, mainly studying contemporary and musical theatre. She is currently completing her master's degree in dance research focusing on accessibility and inclusivity in dance and hopes to make dance accessible for all children.

Shanice is a professional dancer from Portsmouth who has danced for 21 years. She is now a graduate of performers College after 4 years training. She has a diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre and has danced for Dua Lipa at the Brit Awards and at the Men's UEFA Euros closing ceremony in 2021. Shanice has experience of teaching children in dance schools and now wants to share her expertise and love for dancing to children who may not get these opportunities, she felt FunKidz was the best company to help her do this. 

Shanice loves how the company helps children to grow in confidence and enjoys seeing the children having so much fun dancing. 

Abby has always had a strong passion for dance and musical theatre, performing in both amateur and professional productions and has taken many Trinity, ABSRM, RAD, and ISTD exams. She graduated from the University of Chichester in 2020 with a first class honours in Musical Theatre Performance and she is now studying for her Dance Diploma in Education. She was teacher at Stagecoach Performing Arts Portsmouth and has now taken over the manger role there. As an active member of The Portsmouth Players, Abby has performed in many productions with them and has choreographed both Little Shop of Horrors and their Miscast concert. Abby loves teaching dance and enjoys seeing how Funkidz Dance allows all children to grow in confidence and express themselves through movement.
